It is the imperfections that make this photo. Beth, standing much too close, catches most of the light from the flash and it overexposes and washes her out almost completely -- she is a silhouette of light against the backdrop of the ordinary world. You, on the other hand, hang behind in the shadow, underexposed but contented and more than contented. This is a great photograph.
That is great... the kind of one-in-a-thousand picture you take off-handedly or by accident that turns out better than what one (or at least *I*) can do purposely.
